Our Season 2006
These events will be our main domestic and international
goals for the 2006 season: |
 |
Spring
Cup
Essential this year as part of the WOC preparations. This will
be a good speed test at the start of the season and the first
chance to race in a relay with Vasteras - the first time for Oli!
|
| |
British Long
and Relay Champs
The first major domestic race of the year, this will be
another fast and furious competition which will be the first time
back in Surrey since the World Cups in 2005. We will be aiming to
win the relays with our clubs ShUOC and SYO. Probably a selection
race... |
 |
JK
2006
A JK in Yorkshire will fill many people with dread, but
so much the better! It will be a weekend of tough and testing orienteering
with the middle distance in the moorland of Ilkley and the Long
distance in the proper Yorkshire forest of Cropton. Probably a selection
race... |
 |
Tio
Mila
The first major relay of the year. Tio is always a big
goal for our Scandinavian teams. It's wet, cold and dark, but it
is always a fierce battle for places. |
 |
EOC
Estonia
WC round 1 in the final WC series ever! It should be an
interesting WC in the terrain that was used for JWOC 2001. |
 |
Jukola
The second major relay of the season. Oli travels with Vasteras
SOK while Jenny stays at home working! |
| |
WOC Selection
Races
Nothing is known about these races yet, except that they are in
Denmark... |
 |
WOC
Denmark
The main focus of the season. WOC in Denmark will be a return to
the large-scale events like Sweden and Switzerland, with spectators
and media. The terrain looks great and more challenging than you
might expect! One thing is for sure, you will need to run fast! |
 |
World
Students Slovakia
Oli's 2nd and last World Student Champs. This will be a fun but
tough competition in technical karst terrain. |
 |
WC
Final France
The last ever WC race! This promises to be an amazing finale to
the WC in the intricate volcanic terrain of Auvergne. |
